Health Department Officials are disturbed over recent reports that suggest an advance in the volume of STD infections currently being reported. While the increase may not appear to be worrying to some, any growth in the number of recorded instances can be associated with a rise in unreported transmissions. While a central issue was once a lack of easily available STD testing, that is no longer the case with the ever increasing number of ways that people can obtain STD testing in Dallas. Both the county and community health departments have tried to make cost-effective testing accessible to people of all income levels, and private testing organizations have also been a good source for confidential STD testing services. “Presently there appears to be a presumption that if you’re not exhibiting any symptoms, then you aren’t infected.” stated one local official. “However, any expert will tell you that many STDs show little to no symptoms, even though the danger of spreading is just the same.” The only way to decrease this rapid growth is for all at risk individuals to obtain regular STD testing for all major infections. If you believe you are at risk, or simply do not know, the preferred measure is to call your local health department or explore on the internet for “STD testing services” in order to locate a local medical laboratory that can evaluate your level of risk.
